Exercise – a case study

As a part of ERNST work, we created case studies to illustrate the path of a second victim. In the attachment, you can find the story of a patient (Mr Manuel) that suffered an adverse event and the description of what happened to the healthcare worker involved. It is a fictitious story, based on real events.

This case study can be used to discuss the second victim phenomenon and the factors that influence the experience of a second victim.
